NEW REPORT: The Expensive, Elusive Green Job

For several years the Obama administration has dumped billions of taxpayer dollars toward programs intended to accelerate the development of a “green” economy. However, the 3.1 million green jobs that have been created are primarily preexisting jobs that have been reclassified as green.

The Manhattan Institute just released the latest in its Issues 2012 series of policy briefs, The Expensive, Elusive Green Job.” Authored by MI senior fellow and former chief economist at the U.S. Department of Labor Diana Furchtgott-Roth, the report argues that no one knows exactly what green jobs are. So why are they costing tax payers billions?
